Spadina North of Queen West Side
Spadina North of Queen West Side

Bau-Xi Photo has opened! The gallery is located at 324 Dundas Street West, which is directly across the street from the AGO. More specifically, if you happened to be dining at the restaurant -- Frank -- and staggered out the door after too many Coors Lights it would be directly in front of you -- across the street. You really should be careful if you decide to cross over in such a state. It's a good idea to look both ways as Dundas can be pretty hairy.

If you're interested the current show is Adam Makarenko's work and it's stunning. Its a little dark, slightly frightening, and completely engrossing. As a bonus the work of all the other Bau-Xi Photo artists is displayed in the awesome little back room of the main floor and in the full floor lower-level gallery. In short, there's a lot to see.

There's an article about the gallery here in Canadian Art online. There's also a full website here that shows the work of all the artist currently represented by Bau-Xi.

The gallery is beautiful and the work is awesome. That's sort of weird for me to say, seeing as I'm one of the artists, but it does look pretty cool.
